About the Company

The Home Depot Inc., most commonly known as Home Depot, is a major home renewal retailer in America. It manufactures tools, construction services, home décor, small kitchen appliances and many more products. The company was incorporated in 1978 by Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank with headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. They founded the first two Home Depot stores in Atlanta in the following year. Home Depot has launched more than 2,200 stores in three countries from those two stores in Atlanta. The company's primary goal is to receive customers' respect by providing them with the highest level of service and extensive selection of products, at the most competitive prices. In 2013, Home Depot formed two large distribution centres in Los Angeles and Atlanta. The company's stores are average 105,000 sq ft in size and are arranged in ware-house style, storing an extensive range of supplies. Home Depot has more than 90 distribution centres all over the United States that serve more than 2,000 stores. The company reported sales of $28.3 billion for the first quarter of fiscal 2020. This denoted an increase of 7.1% from the first quarter of fiscal 2019. The company has 415,700 employees working under it, as of 2020. In fiscal 2019, this company had sales of $110.2 billion and earnings of $11.2 billion. The company took possession of 24 businesses, with 8 in the last five years itself. On July 22nd, 2015, this company secured Interline Brands from Goldman Sachs' private equity firm, P2 Capital Partners and Interline Brands' management. A total of 13 acquisitions came from various private equity firms. Home Depot's most significant investment till date was in 2020 when it took HD Supply Holdings for $8.0 billion. As of 2020, the company is ranked 26th on the Fortune 500 list of the largest United States Corporations by total revenue. In the third quarter for 2020, ending on November 1st, The Home Depot had $33.5 billion revenue, representing a year-on-year increase of 24%.;
